03 FAQ

Common questions.

Don’t see your question? Call or text — we’d rather talk it through.

Do I need a fishing license?
Yes — every angler needs a valid Kansas fishing license, available from Kansas Department of Wildlife & Parks (KDWP). Always check KDWP for current regulations and length/creel limits, which vary by lake and species.
What's included in the trip?
A fully loaded boat with rods, reels, tackle, and bait; a first aid kit; life jackets for children and adults; and fish cleaning/processing if you want to take fish home (allow up to an hour).
How many people can come?
Pricing covers 1–2 people. You can add up to 3 more anglers at $100 each, for a maximum of 5 per boat. Larger groups can be split onto multiple boats — please arrange this as early as possible.
What species will we target?
It depends on the lake and season. Marion produces walleye, wiper, crappie, and white bass; Milford is strong for wiper, white bass, and crappie; Wilson is known for striper, walleye, and catfish — with seasonal bass mixed in. Tyler recommends the best bite for your date.
When is the season?
Tyler guides fishing full-time, with the October–February months set aside for guiding hunting trips. Summer lodging and the Fishing Escape Package run June through August. Check the booking calendar for open dates — they go fast.
Can I keep what I catch?
Absolutely, within Kansas regulations and length/creel limits. Fish cleaning and processing are included as part of your trip — just allow up to an hour at the end of the day.
Do you offer lodging?
Yes — summer lodging (June–August) is available at the 6-bed Final Destination Outfitters Lodge in Hillsboro for $200/night plus a one-time $50 cleaning fee. It can also be bundled into the Fishing Escape Package.
